Presently, he is the principal of G.H.S.S., Aryanad. He started his career as a teacher, teaching economics for classes Plus 1 and 2 in SMV Government Higher Secondary School, Trivandrum. Widely renowned for his well-known poem, “Kannada”, Murukan Kattakada has claimed enormous recognition among Kerala’s youngsters, mostly owing to his own typical style of poetry recital in his manly voice. He wrote the lyrics of songs in Malayalam films like Oru Naal Varum,] Parayan Marannathu, Bhagavan, Chattambinadu and Rathinirvedam. He was born in Kattakada, a small town near Trivandrum in Kerala.
